Reinforced CNC Swingarm - VOLAR SPORT by Martin R&D

The VOLAR SPORT swingarm by Martin R&D was designed to improve the stiffness and strength characteristics of the original Talaria. The VOLAR SPORT swingarm by Martin R&D was created to push the vehicle’s performance to the limit.

To achieve these goals, comparative finite element analysis (FEM) was carried out with the original swingarm, focusing on deformation and local stresses, to understand not only qualitatively but also quantitatively what the limits of the original were and which characteristics needed to be improved.

Side and torsional stiffness were identified as structural optimization parameters.
An additional check was performed on the component’s resonance frequencies, to prevent vibrations in operation even on the roughest terrain and on routes with frequent potholes, so it can be pushed to the limit safely in all conditions.
The resulting prototype is ideal for cross and enduro use, improving chattering issues in the pit bike segment.
